Did you ever work retail? As a teenager I worked at a health store in Dawson Creek, BC. And I was very good at selling vitamins. You know why? Because I believed they were what the customer was looking for. I had the solution they wanted.
The best thing in the world when someone asks, “Do you have …?” is being able to answer, “Of course!”. And not only that – you can offer more options at better price points. AND you even know if it should be taken with something else to make it more effective!
And if the customer wants to talk, you have a little chat about what they heard about this product, or maybe even their struggles. Conversations on that level are the most precious gifts. To be entrusted with someone’s struggles is a blessing that I’ll always be thankful for.
It feels good to know what you’re talking about and use that information to help people! If you know something about something, don’t be afraid to let people know. Oftentimes we’ll write our sales pages about our products, and even define the pain points and benefits, but do we take the time to say, “I not only know the solution, I have it!”
For awhile I’ve been doing a daily experiment on Facebook. I’ve been going live around noon to discuss the day. It isn’t anything special nor a tutorial. It’s just a “Hey, welcome to my shop!” chit chat. So if you’re around my FB page and want to drop by- please do!
It’s my office door, and it’s open for you!
